Third-inning rally sparks win for Benjamin Davis Falcons Varsity, 12-1

An eight-run explosion in the third inning carried Benjamin Davis Falcons Varsity to a 12-1 win in six innings over Northbrook at Northbrook on Friday.

Benjamin Davis Falcons Varsity scored in the third on a two-run error, an error, a two-run double by Jeremy Syas, an RBI single by Kenneth Adams, and a two-run error.


Syas racked up three RBIs on three hits for Benjamin Davis Falcons Varsity.



Northbrook's lineup had no answer for Miguel Martinez. Martinez gave up just two hits, allowed one earned run, walked three and struck out six during his five innings of work.


Eddie ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed 10 runs in five innings, walked one and struck out three.

Benjamin Davis Falcons Varsity matched its two-run fifth inning with two more in the sixth. In the fifth, Benjamin Davis Falcons Varsity scored on a two-run error, scoring Syas and Luis Castillo.

Fabian Chapa started the inning with a single, plating Jesse Quinones. That was followed up by Syas' double, scoring Chapa.
