We are pleased to announce that the Jose A. Gutierrez has earned national recognition in The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards of 2015. Jose has been identified by panels of creative professionals as one of the most talented young artists (and writers) in the nation. This year, 300,000 works of art and writing were submitted. Only the top 1% were recognized at the national level. These students have been invited to attend a ceremony at the world-famous Carnegie Hall on Thursday, June 11.
Besides winning his regional Gold Key, his photograph received the American Vision Award. New York judges also awarded his entry with a national Silver Medal. He will receive both medals at the award ceremony at Carnegie Hall.His teacher, Marilyn Venne, said, “Jose has a bright future as a photographer and the art schools will take notice.” Jose also won the very first letter jacket in art for Davis High School.
