Jose’s love of art began as a child when he began doodling. He got better and was basically self-taught through practice plus trial and error. He never entered contests until this year; his perfectionism kept him from entering. “I noticed a super realistic drawing in his sketchbook and I asked him to let me see more work like that,” his art teacher, Ms. Venne, commented.
Agua was Jose’s first contest piece. He did it all with an inexpensive, blue ball point pen. Jose was ecstatic to earn his Gold Key award.
