We are so excited about our Baseball Buddies Mentor Program for our 4th-grade scholars! Spence Elementary and Davis High School Varsity Baseball players and coach Joseph Johnson are “All in For Aldine”!
According to Coach Johnson, “as a coach of a group of young men, it is important to teach them life long lessons. Winning in the game of baseball is important but teaching them about giving back to those who come after them is just as important”. Coach Johnson is the head baseball coach at Davis High School and sought out this partnership for his boys to be able to give back.
Senior, mark Lopez said, “Today’s experience impacted me by allowing me to interact with today’s youth and test my own ability to communicate and help out some kids in need.”
Senior Andy Lopez said, “Today went great, and I honestly enjoyed it, I felt like interacting with the kids honestly helped them get work done. What I took from today was that our baseball program is officially bigger than baseball.
Susana Bazan, the principal at Spence Elementary, is excited to have the team and the boys help mentor some of her students. Before the season even started, this group of student-athletes already has a big win in their column.
