The Davis Theatre Department competed at the Thespian Festival Competition in Grapevine, Texas from Nov. 20-23. The team represented themselves, Aldine ISD, and Davis HS with outstanding performances in Group Acting, Duet Acting, Scenic Design, and Marketing Design. At this state level competition over 8,000 students competed, attended workshops on acting and theatre industry to interviews with colleges and universities. In order to advance from the state level and qualify for the national competition at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, students had to have a Superior Ranking. Thirteen of the students (the largest number Davis has had to advance) qualified in Group Acting and Marketing Design to now compete at the National level.
